The majority of projects driven by blockchain are driven by men. The new blockchain use-case of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFT) is no different.
At CROING, we’re a creative and digital agency led by women with 85% in leadership positions, we want to bring attention within the NFT space to projects led by women, here’s a list of 5:
1. World of Women
WoW’s vision is to build an inclusive web3 through its collection and community. According to research published in Nov. 2021, female artists accounted for just 5% of all NFT art sales in the prior 21 months. WoW is on a mission to change this. Together, we can create opportunities for anyone around the world to be owners, creators and contributors in this new era of the web.
Their signature NFT collection was released on July 27th, 2021. Our second collection will be released in 2022. WoW owners are contributors and investors in our mission, which comes with unique benefits.
2. Kimeras, women in STEM
Kimeras is a project that promotes women in STEM, namely science, technology, engineering, and math.
Kimeras is here to raise awareness, educate the community about everything STEM, and give back by releasing at least 15% of their funds to offer either a Solidity coding developer boot camp for beginners or acquire laptops for underprivileged women starting in the STEM field. The knowledge pool that’s being hosted on Discord will be free for every woman. Members of the STEM field are encouraged to freely share their knowledge, for which they can be rewarded with the $STEM tokens in return.
3. Boss Beauties
Boss Beauties is a 10,000-NFT collection, made out of the minds of Gen Z change-makers who imagined a collection of digital portraits to capture the empowered women they want to see and be in the world.
Associated with My Social Canvas, a charitable foundation that has been funding internships and scholarships for women and building a community of Gen Z change-makers for the past decade, Boss Beauties is the epitome of female empowerment in the NFT space. Sold out in just an hour, Boss Beauties also became the inaugural NFT collection to be featured in the New York Stock Exchange.
4. Nudie Community
Nudie Community is backed by an all-female team with the goal of empowering women and encouraging them to transform and sprout their wings in the male-dominated NFT space. The team aims to launch a DAO where 1 NFT will count for 1 vote with a fund created from 5 percent of mint sales and 25 percent of the second-market royalties. Members will be able to vote on how to use the fund next as the sole controllers of the DAO.
With plans already in motion to establish plots of land for the metaverse, Nudie Community has also launched an AR game where the DAO members can decide whether to turn the game into a play-to-earn game or whether to use the fund for other utilities!
5. Women Rise
Women Rise is a collection of 10,000 randomly generated and unique NFT art pieces created by the internationally acclaimed visual artist Maliha Abidi. The collection represents women from around the world and the traits go beyond the diversity of just skin colors. Women activists, artists, scientists, coders and many others rising to make the world a better place.
